Every project is a little different, but most take 12–24 months from start to finish.
I start by shaping your idea into a clear, workable brief. Together, we’ll define what makes your product different, who it’s for, and where it will sit in the market.
This is where we’ll:
- Clarify your product vision, target audience, and launch goals
- Discuss budgets, hero ingredients, and product claims
- Map out a realistic development plan and timeline
Outcome: A detailed brief and roadmap that sets the direction for everything to come.
Accreditations
In House Formulation Development
Allow: 3 - 6 months
This is where the science really comes to life. Your formulation is developed in house at the Glow Mob lab, allowing for hands on development, faster alterations, and closer alignment with your brief.
During this stage I will:
- Develop and refine your formulation directly in lab
- Test and adjust texture, scent, and performance
- Assess ingredient compatibility and early stability
- Ensure the formula aligns with your brand values and regulatory requirements
You will be involved throughout, reviewing samples and providing feedback as we fine tune the product.
Outcome: A signed off formula ready for formal testing and packaging compatibility.
Packaging Development
Allow: 3 - 6 months
Packaging needs to look good, feel right, and work seamlessly with your formula. This stage runs in parallel with formulation so nothing is left to chance.
I will:
- Source packaging options and request samples
- Test compatibility with the finished formulation
- Consider sustainability, materials, MOQs, and lead times
- Align packaging choices with your budget and launch timeline
Outcome: Approved packaging components, supplier selection, and artwork direction.
Testing & Compliance
Allow: 3 - 6 months
Once the formulation is approved, we move into validation. This ensures your product is safe, stable, and compliant in your chosen markets.
This includes:
- Stability and microbiological testing
- Safety assessments and CPSR where required
- Claims testing if applicable
- Regulatory guidance for EU, UK, and Australia including AICIS or TGA pathways
Outcome: A compliant, tested product dossier ready for manufacture.
Production & Scale-Up
Allow: 3 - 9 months
Your product moves from lab scale to commercial production. I work closely with your manufacturer to ensure the transition is smooth and nothing is lost in translation.
This stage covers:
- Manufacturer briefing and technical transfer
- Raw material and packaging coordination
- Bulk batching, filling, and quality control checks
Outcome: Your first production run completed and ready for delivery.
Branding & Launch Support
Allow: 2 - 4 months
As production wraps up, we make sure everything comes together cohesively. From packaging copy to online positioning, your product’s purpose is clear and consistent.
I can support with:
- Claims wording and copy alignment
- Artwork review and sign off
- Ensuring technical accuracy across all brand touchpoints
Outcome: Everything aligned and approved for launch.
Launch & Beyond
Allow: 1 - 2 months
Once your products are in hand, my role shifts to technical oversight and future planning. I can support final quality sign off, review any early feedback, and help shape what comes next from a formulation and product development perspective.
This might include:
- Line extensions
- Formula improvements
- New product development based on customer feedback
Outcome: Your product officially live, with a clear plan for future growth.
